- TLD, Silver Bars, and TLTC: The CAC White Stag Evolution - These are what I consider priceless historic artifacts of the very roots and earliest evolution of the White Stag program in the Crossroads of America Council. Troop Leader Development (TLD) dates to 1979, Silver Bars to 1980, and White Stag TLTC to 1982 with that oh-so familiar emblem we all know and love. Herein we also see Mike's staff certificate from Silver Bars in '80, dated June 28, 1980. The certificate appears to include the names and positions of the entire staff, and Ramsey Park? As in Ramsey Park in the 300 block of W 42nd Street in Indianapolis? Is this our ancestral home? We definitely need to learn more about this! By 1982, its clear that White Stag TLTC had moved to Camp Red Wing as evidenced by the Rex Hatch designed emblem we all know and love on Mike's '82 plaque which was probably hand-carved by Mr. Hatch himself. Here we can see that by 1980, the troop numeral began with the last two digits of the year, a tradition that would be carried forward until the end. The missing numeral on the right should be 2, for Troop 821, White Stag TLTC, in 1982. The late 1990s will always hold a special place in my heart when it comes to scouting and especially White Stag. I went through White Stag JLTC as a participant in 1997, the final White Stag course before the two session split in '98. My first year on staff was June session in '98. This was a really fun, special time to be on White Stag Staff, and I am honored to have been there, learned from, and rubbed elbows with many of the greats. As such, this stuff from the '90s will always be "real" White Stag, at least for me. Your mileage may vary.
- Black JLTC Participant Neckerchief - This is a fine example of the black participant (or "PT" as we later came to call them on June session) neckerchief issued to conference participants for their week at White Stag. I wore one of these from June 8 through June 14 of 1997 as a member of Troop 973 Yellow Patrol, the Muddy Beavers. The White Stag emblem was imprinted in white line on this simple black neckerchief by the fine people at Eastern Emblem, and were made to last much longer than one week. Mr. Richard Parrott (CD 990, CD 000) had this to say recently concerning the black JLTC participant neckerchiefs: "We originally silk screened all the neckerchiefs at the training sessions, but that got so much that that’s all we did for like two weekends so that’s when I went to Eastern emblem and had them do it" I have been fortunate enough to see examples of the Red Wing silk-screened PT neckerchiefs in the regalia collections of staff members older than I. Another thing that used to be silk-screened at Red Wing were the red Class B staff tee shirts that we wore under our Class A uniform shirts. If it got too hot or we were doing filthy work, we wore them without the Class A on top. The White Stag Staff Class B Uniform was commonplace for the food quartermasters while working in the kitchen and back-of-house in BP. I am fortunate enough to have at least two of these mother church silk-screened examples in my collection courtesy of my staff brothers from other mothers Mark McConnell and Josh Bush. This particular PT neckerchief is authentic course-worn from the collection of Jerry Drumm.

- Anthony Pippin's Regalia Layout - Note the July 2002 syllabus cover. Pass it On was our theme. That was a fun session for me to work on and the July staff in '02 was great. There is some other scouting regalia in here as well. Courtesy Anthony Pippin.
- 2002 July Session Commemorative Token - This little wooden chest has antlers on the lid and contains a nail and a small bag of ash from a genuine Camp Red Wing White Stag Staff campfire. Handmade by Course Director Debbie Rinker for the 2002 July Session staff. From my personal collection.
- White Stag NYLT Staff Ballcap - For a period of time in the mid-oughts, these ballcaps replaced the youth staff red beret and adult staff Leisure Felt BSA Field Hat. This is not a bad cap for general wear, but in my opinion it looked goofy with the circa 1980-spec Class A uniform we still wore at the time. I think at some point after my staff tenure this cap was re-replaced by the beret and field hat. It has NYLT embroidered under my son's Bobcat rank pin. Hey, I had to cover it up somehow!
