Camp Red Wing

Map to and of Camp Red Wing - This is a 600 DPI scan of the Camp Red Wing page in the Where to Go resource book produced by OA Wulakamike Lodge 21 circa 1978. A link to the entire book is included on the miscellania category page. Notable on this page are the presence of a rappelling tower, Ball State Cabin, the suspension bridge over White River, the lake, fishing area, and outpost area on the east side of White River. In addition to the pool, all of these features were decommissioned by the time I began going to Red Wing in the late '90s. The land on the east side of White River is a separate parcel from the main section of the camp and is unfortunately not owned by Slayd and Corry Milhollin as the main portion of the camp is today. Note the 317 area code and rural route address in 47301 consistent with the old map linked below. Also interesting on this map is that in the state highway map inset, I-69 running up the west side of Delaware County, while clearly a limited-access highway based on the presence of interchange markers, is only marked on the map as US-35.

1999 Map To Camp Red Wing - Again, before navigators, this is how you got somewhere if you didn't know. This map is computer drawn and is oriented with North facing right. That's not a problem when you print it out and turn the paper sideways.
Map to Camp Red Wing; Camp Map - Old School! This map to Red Wing is hand-drawn and the camp's mailing address is Box 99 on Rural Route 5 in ZIP 47301! Any locals remember when rural Delaware County got away from rural route addresses or when they started using 47302? The map of the camp itself on the second page appears consistent with the map Tom Kear provided below that has the 317 area code in front of the camp's telephone number. Courtesy Ryan Augustine.
